Frequently Asked Questions

Can I receive consultation in English?
Yes. Our supervising physician for online care, Dr. Masayuki Ikegawa, communicates clearly in English. Both English and Japanese consultations are available.
Do I need to be in Japan?
Yes. You must be physically located in Japan during the consultation and at the time of medication delivery. We cannot ship internationally.
Is obesity treatment covered by Japanese health insurance?
No. Treatments such as Mounjaro, Wegovy, Rybelsus, and Forxiga prescribed for weight reduction are self-pay (private) and not covered by Japanese health insurance.
What is the ¥1,000 booking fee?
A ¥1,000 (tax incl.) fee charged at the time of online reservation. It is applied to your final bill on the day of consultation. If you cancel by 23:59 the day before your appointment, it is fully refunded.
Is there a consultation fee?
Yes — for English-language consultations, a ¥5,500 (tax incl.) consultation fee applies. This fee includes issuance of a medical certificate and English-language support. The ¥1,000 booking fee is deducted from your total.
Can I have medication delivered to my hotel in Japan?
Yes. We can ship to any address in Japan, including hotels. Please confirm with your hotel in advance that they can (a) accept a package on your behalf and (b) refrigerate it — injectables (Mounjaro / Wegovy) ship via cool delivery and must be stored at refrigerated temperatures.
What is the maximum prescription length?
Up to 3 months at a time.
What documents can you issue?
Receipt: Issued. Use this as proof of purchase.
Medical certificate (English): Issued on request as part of the consultation fee. Note: as this is self-pay (private) treatment, the certificate cannot list a specific disease/diagnosis name — it states that the medication is for the patient's own use within the scope of self-pay treatment. 📄 View sample (PDF)
Copy of prescription: Not issued. We dispense medication in-house, so a separate prescription form is not generated.
Can I take the medication out of Japan?
From Japan's side: No special Japanese export permit is required for personal use. Please carry the English medical certificate we issue, your receipt, and the medication in its original packaging.
From your destination country's side: Rules vary widely. GLP-1 receptor agonists (Mounjaro, Wegovy) are restricted or banned in some countries — please verify with your destination country's embassy or customs in advance. The clinic cannot take responsibility for confiscation at any customs. Full country list: see Pricing page.
What payment methods are accepted?
Credit card (Visa, JCB, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club) and Japanese bank transfer. Payment is processed via Square Inc.'s secure system.
How long does delivery take?
Medication is shipped within 1–2 business days after payment is confirmed. Yamato Transport typically delivers nationwide within Japan in 1–3 days from shipment.
Is prescription guaranteed if I request it?
No. Prescription is based on the physician's medical judgment, considering BMI, medical history, comorbidities, concurrent medications, and pregnancy status. We may recommend alternatives or decline prescription if not medically appropriate.
What is the cancellation policy?
By 23:59 the day before: full refund of the ¥1,000 booking fee. Same-day cancellation or no-show: ¥5,000 fee (tax incl.). See Pricing page for details.
Can I switch from another clinic?
Yes. We welcome patients currently receiving GLP-1 / GIP/GLP-1 treatment at other clinics. Please bring your current prescription information to the consultation.
